The Dallas Museum of Art held a free Polyphonic Spree show last night. It was awesome!

Sunday Nights at Hole in the Wall

I love Hole in the Wall. It's one of my favorite places to go hang out.

A few months ago, White Dress started playing every Sunday night here. I took these photos a couple of weekends ago. The other half of the band couldn't make it that night, so we got a solo show.

Arum has an incredible voice.

The bar listens when she sings. James had to work the door but he kept it cracked to hear.

It was great to hear some of her solo work. It has more of a true blues feeling than White Dress.

It was a good night for sure. You can see them play at Hole in the Wall at 11 every Sunday this month. =)

Two Posts in a Day

I have so much to post! I'm just now having some time to photo edit so I think I will just post as I finish my edits.

My friend and I went to go see Union Specific play at Jax off of Guadalupe last week. I was able to reconnect with a friend of mine from high school. Although, sadly, we were meeting there to see her friends play for the last time before she moved to a new city.

She is awesome.

We drank beer and were merry together.

We then hit up Spiderhouse and watched people play with fire.

It was an excellent time all around. I definitely would see Union Specific again. They have a solid country-indie sound that makes me want to dance. They're playing tonight at the Saxon Pub around 11:30. If anyone has the urge to go, you should. They're good. =)

Past Prayers

I had the opportunity to go out to The Ghost Room a few weeks ago and photograph Past Prayers. I must say, I enjoyed myself immensely.

The lead singer of Past Prayers is also playing tonight at 10 at Club de Ville with his other band Grand Champeen. You should check it out if you're looking for something to do tonight!

Lucky Lounge

So, last Thursday night, my good friend Tyler and I went out to Lucky Lounge to see a few bands play.

JM Dobies is the one who suggested we go. I met him at my new job. You can subscribe to his podcasts for free on the itunes store. He features bands from Texas that were big in the past on his show The Texas Tyme Machine.

He's a pretty awesome guy. Just make sure you catch him before he has too many IPAs...haha!

The band playing here is called The Ugly Beats. I recommend them. They have a solid old school 1960s vibe. Plus, the keyboardist was wearing a badass dress, which, for some reason, I did not take a picture of...Fail.

Oh well. I did however, get a picture of the pool table. I thought it looked awesome and inspiring.
