Bye Bye Spring!

We had a very lovely spring here.  I have enjoyed it immensely, but now summer has arrived!

I love summer!

I have been growing this past season and I'm so thankful for everyone and everything in my life.  It's easy to get caught up in all the negative.  It takes a ton of work to stay positive -- but of course, that's where the life lessons lie.

I hope everyone enjoys the hell out of this weekend.

It's going to be a good one.  =)

Texture

I had a love affair with texture recently.

It was a few weeks ago when the weather started changing.

I was going for an afternoon walk and it caught my eye.

I couldn't help it. I fell in love.

There's something about it's depth...

...and how it makes me think of onomatopoeia (crunch, crunch, crinkle).

I'm still not over it.

If you know me at all, you know that I love trees.

I went up to Dallas this weekend and the leaves were just starting to change. I love it. I cannot wait to get up there next week during Thanksgiving to photograph them. Autumn is by far the best time in North Texas. I may be a bit biased, but really, with colors like this, how can anyone disagree?

Practice

I had a pretty good day today. I got to spend some time practicing. I'm falling in love with manual focus. It's always great to practice what you love.

I took these in Sam's house. The house definitely has a lot of character in it.

It feels good to be able to take some time and relax and shoot some work. It really hasn't taken me too long to photo edit them either. I've been trying really hard to pay attention and focus when I shoot.

I hope you have been enjoying the Spring weather. Even though we haven't had as much rain as we need, it's still been incredibly beautiful outside.

Oh...and this and Mabel. She is adorable.

Dreaming About Summer

I am looking forward to this season. =)

Abandonment? Never.

So I feel like I've been slacking on my blog waaayyyyy too much. Life suddenly has gotten very busy. I think it's the new season. =)

I have a bunch of photos I will be posting soon. I have my March pic of the day on the way, along with this amazing event called Games For Life. I am so pumped.

You will have to stay tuned. =)

Life has been full of lessons lately. I was wondering if the idea of "soul sessions" came from the idea of "soul lessons"...I feel like my soul has been meeting people for the sole (soul...haha) purpose of learning and working through deep shit.

Anywho...I will post more soon. I promise!
