Paula Nelson

I love music.  I love all kinds of music.  I especially love live music.

A few weeks ago I went out to see Paula Nelson play at the Saxon Pub.

I've always heard great things about the Saxon Pub.  I had never been before and I was pumped to have a reason to go check it out.  It's one of those bars in Austin that simply has amazing history.  Many talented people have played on that stage and you can feel the energy hanging out in this space.

The show was nice and low key.  There were only a few people in the bar but everyone was listening.  I was fortunate to be there and have the opportunity to take some photos.  Landis, her guitar player, may be one of the best guitar players I've seen play live.  I enjoyed myself immensely.

I took this last shot while they were playing.  I feel like it sums up the energy of my night pretty well.  If you ever get a chance to either see Paula Nelson or go to the Saxon Pub or, better yet, go to the Saxon Pub to see Paula play, I would definitely recommend it.

Tata for now!

May POD

The end of May was...how should I put this...long.

I'm just now getting around to putting together the last week of images.  So here we go...

First of all, my cat died.  It sucked.  It was strange though,  I really wanted to photograph her -- so I did.  I loved Miss Fat Cat Jonez.  She was a crazy cat and she died a fat cat death.  I will miss her greatly.

I later saw this man's way of coping with his cat's death and I felt better.  Death is inevitable.  It will happen to everyone.  If you're alive, you will eventually die.  That's just how it is.

Much love to Joni Cat.  You were the best.

After that happened, things really slowed down for me.  I went to KUT and did a couple of things over the elections for them.  I had a pretty good time.  Mario, another intern, and I took a bus adventure to a few different polling places around town.

I then went on a 360 bridge adventure.  I really wanted to be up high and on a cliff.  So I did.

Marley was pretty bummed out about Joni.  She spent some time in my room for a couple of days.  It was nice to have some company.

On the weekend, I went out to see Khaki and her kids.  They were helping her clean the car.  It was quite amusing to watch them play.  Summer is definitely in full swing.

I took this pic of the boys.  It's so typical for Kasyn to miss the memo.  Haha.

On the last day of May, I went out to Manor to visit my friend Chloe.  She just moved out there at the end of last year.  I must say, I loved her view from the backyard!

I can't wait to see what June brings!  We're already almost a fourth done with it!  Where is 2012 going??
