POD April: Sunday 04/24/11

I managed to post my pic-of-the-day for April in April! Yes...goal attained.

Pic of the Day:
04/24/11-/04/30/11

I love the energy in this image. Khaki has some of the best kids out there. =)

The softer side of Ms. Jones

Tuesday: 04/26/11

I left Uncle Billy's a few weeks ago but we stopped by to pick up my last check. The view is nice. The beer is good. We had a good time.

Wednesday: 04/27/11

This dreamcatcher fascinates me. It's a wind chime as well. If you ever get a chance, you should spend some time admiring the beauty of them. They are interesting.

Thursday: 04/28/11

I went out and bought a bunch of food. Our fridge went out this past week and I definitely found a new appreciation for eating at home. A week without food in the house wasn't right. You can't take food for granted. It's incredibly important.

Friday: 04/29/11

I have been revisiting night photography recently. There is something about the quality and tone of the light that feeds my curiosity.

Saturday: 04/30/11

Marley was super sweet today and posed for me. She has turned into quite a regal animal.

Life As A Desk

I feel like this is a metaphor for my week.

I consciously decided though that I wouldn't let life get me down. I'm posting a ton of stuff tonight.

Get ready.

Sometimes outtakes make great photos.

Pic of the Week: Tomatoes!

My auntie prepared these tomatoes for stuffed tomatoes last time I saw her. If you have never tried stuffed tomatoes, I highly suggest doing so. They are delicious. =)

Jill's Birthday!

Just when you thought Sam's famous pound cake recipe couldn't be any better, he goes and tie-dyes it!

Sam made this cake for Jill for her birthday! Definitely one of the most thoughtful cakes ever. =)

Pic of the Week: More New Zealand!

This photo was taken at the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Park outside of Rotorua, New Zealand. That place is incredible. New Zealand in general is incredible. I'm finally starting to seriously go through my work in New Zealand. I will be posting much more!

Kerri and Adam

Here are some portraits I did of my sister Kerri and my brother-in-law Adam!

I Miss New Zealand

This is the first picture I took in New Zealand. I can't believe it's almost been a year since we went there.

Things change so fast. It's only been a year and I'm already in a totally different place than I was a year ago. I'm about to move back to Plano for three months. It should be an interesting time. I'm looking forward to spending some time with my family and working on a few personal projects.

We shall seeeeee....

Storm's

Last week when we went up to Dallas, I decided to take a different road. Little did I know, it was the same road to Mackie's house in Dublin, TX.

Sure enough we past Storm's. I definitely got a little over excited about it. Haha...we had to stop and eat.

I love random road connections...it's awesome.

Practice

I had a pretty good day today. I got to spend some time practicing. I'm falling in love with manual focus. It's always great to practice what you love.

I took these in Sam's house. The house definitely has a lot of character in it.

It feels good to be able to take some time and relax and shoot some work. It really hasn't taken me too long to photo edit them either. I've been trying really hard to pay attention and focus when I shoot.

I hope you have been enjoying the Spring weather. Even though we haven't had as much rain as we need, it's still been incredibly beautiful outside.

Oh...and this and Mabel. She is adorable.

I hope everyone has a good day today. You deserve it. =)

Got to spend some time in a hammock. Yesss...

Dreaming About Summer

I am looking forward to this season. =)

Games for Life

A few weekends ago my friend Oscar Silva asked me if I would help shoot the Games For Life this year...and of course...I said yes. =)

Games For Life is one of the most amazing experiences I've had. Nursing homes and assistant living homes come together and compete as as a team against each other. There's wheel chair races, balloon volleyball, a spelling bee, dominoes and arts and crafts. I love the energy it creates. Life is tangible there. I love it.

Here are some my favorites from the weekend. Enjoy!

POD March: Saturday 03/26/11

Here's the pic-of-the-day for March! For some reason I got my days mixed up and I only managed to shoot for the last six days so it's one less this month. =/

It's all good though. Enjoy!

Pic of the Day:
03/26/11-03/31/11

I took this at the Games for Life event at the UT Recreation Center. The event might be one of the most fun events I've shot. Basically, a bunch of nursing homes and assistant living centers come together and compete in events. I'll be posting more pics of the event soon!

Sunday: 03/37/11

We threw our annual birthday extravaganza this night. Sam made his famous cake and we celebrated Janeffer's 25th birthday. It was amazing to get to see everyone. We had a lot of people come out of town for the event.

Monday: 03/28/11

Jill's sister, Faith, and her friend Ana spent some time in Austin with us. They've known each other forever. Old friends are definitely some of the best friends.
