Bye Bye Spring!

We had a very lovely spring here.  I have enjoyed it immensely, but now summer has arrived!

I love summer!

I have been growing this past season and I'm so thankful for everyone and everything in my life.  It's easy to get caught up in all the negative.  It takes a ton of work to stay positive -- but of course, that's where the life lessons lie.

I hope everyone enjoys the hell out of this weekend.

It's going to be a good one.  =)

Moon

This is a picture of the moon taken from inside my tent during Easter weekend.

I am about to work hard for the next five days.  I'm not going to lie.  I'm not too excited about it.  I've been feeling exhausted and simultaneously bored which is a weird state of affairs.

I dislike using the word bored.  I've been in denial about it.  I keep trying to put more and more things onto my plate in an attempt to skirt the truth but when it comes down to it -- I'm bored.

I know it will pass.  I'm going to keep doing what I need to do and do my best to enjoy every moment of it. It will be good practice for me.

Happy Birthday!

Today was Jill's birthday.  It was a lovely day -- full of family, food and a ton of love.

I have been very blessed to have the opportunity to get to know Jill.  She's truly my best friend and my soul sister.  She continually inspires me, challenges me and encourages me and I know that I would not be where I am without her.

I love you Jill!  Happy Birthday!

Here's a close up of the cake Joseph made for her:

Julie

I miss Julie Sheah so much!  Fortunately though, I will be seeing her this weekend during one of biggest celebrations of the year!  Jenna's wedding!

Crosses

I have these crosses that form when my body is just so.
These parts line up and stack upon my toes.

Plant

I have been super busy this past month.  I can't believe it is already the 16th of April.

I hope everyone has been having an amazing spring.  So many things have been growing and blooming.  I love it!

I've been thinking a lot lately about persistence.  What is it?  Why do we do it?  Or more importantly, why do we not persist?

I saw a visual representation of it recently that stuck in my head.  It was a cartoon of two men -- both were digging a hole to his treasure but one turned around when he was just inches away from hitting it.

I believe that when things seem particularly hard it's a good sign that you are getting closer.

I send you much love and don't give up the dig.  You're way closer than you realize!

March POD

March was a very interesting month in my life.  Many things changed, and then changed again and then changed again.

Needless to say, it was a roller coaster of a month.

I finally got my camera lens back!  It felt amazing to be able to see everything clearly again.  PHOTOGRAPHERS --- DON'T LET YOUR LENS GET WET.  Trust me.  It's not worth it.

Jill put the porch swing back up this month.  It's quite lovely sitting on it watching the world go by.  I'm going to miss our front porch so much when we move.  It has been a constant source of adventure in our lives.

We all celebrated Janeffer's birthday on Monday.  Marley was pretty pumped that everyone was at the house.  Her nail polish is starting to chip in this photo.  Haha.  I love her!

I had four days off during this time so I went out to De Leon and spent some time with Mackie.  The wild flowers were amazing!  I've never seen anything like that before.  Mackie's dad has a new pup and she was trying to get a photo of him in them.

After De Leon, I drove up to Plano to spend some time with my friends and family for my birthday.  Sam and I went and had dinner with the Wednesday night crew at Ocean.  It was really nice to see everyone and I snapped this photo of Richard.  I miss all of them so much my heart hurts sometimes.

My dad's roses were blooming out in the back.  I wish I could share with you how fragrant they were.  They smelled as good as they looked.

Friday was my birthday and I had the privilege to spend the morning with my good friend and teacher Cody.  It was lovely spending time with him and laughing about the ridiculousness of life.  Sometimes, you just need to laugh at all of it.

I drove back home early Saturday morning.  It was a lovely morning drive.  I stopped at a rest stop and took this picture of the cows.  I'm so fortunate to be able to travel through Texas right now.  I love it!

I'm about to head out now again to go camping in Mason, TX.  Super stoked!

I hope everyone has a great April!
